ARLINGTON, VA

Arlington offers the convenience needed for those working in the city while providing outstanding green space, fabulous restaurants and shops, and good schools. It’s a true American dream city where residents typically have a short drive into work but can also go for a walk along tree-lined streets.

Arlington is an urban county with around 210,000 people spanning some 26 square miles. It’s one of the most densely populated areas in the country but blends that urban, modern vibe with suburban living qualities. As the DC area has grown, so has Arlington, and with that comes luxury homes, upscale amenities, and outstanding resources.

The Arlington real estate market includes a mixture of older, stately homes and mansions, apartments, newer construction with luxury properties and townhomes, and a bit of mixed living space with retail and condos sharing the same building.

WHAT TO LOVE:
Commuter-friendly
Youthful and hip energy
An energetic neighborhood close to the city

PEOPLE AND LIFESTYLE:
Arlington is full of energy and vibrance. Just across the river from DC, Arlington is connected to the city by two metro lines, making it easy to get around. Many of those that live in the area work in nonprofits, government offices, and within the area’s tech corridor.

While often thought of for its urban lifestyle, the area is also quite green. It’s common to see parks being used for jogs in the morning and owners on long walks with their pets. Sports are also a big part of the community’s atmosphere. These are just a few of the various benefits the Arlington real estate market can offer new homebuyers.

DINING, ENTERTAINMENT & SHOPPING:
One of the most noted aspects of the lifestyle here is shopping. For luxury shopping, Fashion Centre at Pentagon City is the largest destination. However, there are shopping districts in the city, including Claredon and Wilson Blvd. and the area of Crystal City. Ballston Quarter is a shopping center with a movie theater.

Some of the best fine dining and favorites are sure to please most when it comes to restaurants. That includes Salt Line, The Italian Store (with its gourmet Italian grocery), and Green Pig Bistro. Northside Social is a fantastic eatery recognized throughout the region. Punch Bowl Social and Texas Jack’s BBQ are also popular favorites. The Ballston Quarter Food Hall is a must for those looking for fabulous foods while shopping.

THINGS TO DO:
Arlington’s location puts it in the heart of American culture. Pentagon City and National Landing are located only moments away. The Arlington National Cemetery attracts thousands each year.

There’s much more to love about the area for locals, though. Lubber Run Park and Community Center is at the heart of this community. This 31-acre park has multi-purpose courts for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball. It also has outstanding access to trails for those who want to do some walking, running, or biking. Another option is Bluemont Park, a 51-acre pastoral park with grass fields, baseball fields, paths for jogging, and off-road tracks for hiking.

SCHOOLS:
Arlington Public Schools provide most of the education for residents in the area, with a total of 22 elementary schools here, along with 6 middle schools and 3 public high schools.

Washington Liberty High School, 9 to 12 grade
Yorktown High School, 9 to 12th grade
